THE ‘return’ in an air ambulance of President Umaru Yar’Adua hit Nigerians like a thunderbolt. It was like a breathtaking scene in an action-packed movie. Nigerians heaved a sigh of relief that their dear president was back after 93 days of unconstitutional absence.

Ever since, Mr. President has not been seen by his deputy and other functionaries of his government. He has not addressed the nation, though he spoke to the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, from his hospital bed in Saudi Arabia.

The president is neither a clown nor magician, otherwise we could have thought he is playing a scene in a well-orchestrated drama  on the citizens. Moreso, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not field an invisible candidate in the April 21, 2007 presidential election. So, Nigerians deserve to know the whereabouts of their president, including his medical reports. The bitter truth is that a vast majority of Nigerians believe the president had died long ago. The onus of proof lies on the members of Federal Executive Council.

This writer captures it all. To be honest with you, I have the feeling and I feel real certain about it that Yar Adua is long dead. This is why I feel quite ashamed by his wife's actions. She is not behaving like a woman that lost her loved one.
