Aletor, MD Capital Express retires - Eulogises Fola Daniel on NAICOM

THE Group Managing Director, Capital Express Assurance Limited, Mr Anthony Aletor, is bid to retire today from insurance industry into life developmental projects meant to assist under privileged society.

Retiring after 21 years of his immense contribution to Capital Express as group managing director and the Nigerian insurance industry at large, Mr Aletor expressed optimism in the ability of the industry to compete with other financial service sectors if operators can move.

According to him, the appointment of Mr Fola Daniel as the Commissioner for Insurance was the best thing that has happened to the industry stressing that the commissioner has evolved many reform programmes that have transformed the industry.

Mr Aletor would be retiring from active service from insurance industry to reach out to the under privileged people in the suburb and lower end of the society, through various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that are already in operation.

Although, a native of Igueben town in Edo State Nigeria, Mr Aletor has disclosed that one of his foundations, known as “Building to Fish” is already running a multimillion naira infrastructure project at one of the Northern states, and is meant to guarantee quality education for less-privileged children.

In his words, “I believe that if we give people education, Boko Haram will not be a problem.”

Aletor, who has been adjudged as one of the best life insurers the Nigeria has had, having traversed in the financial services sector, is wishing to use part of his life savings to help groom ministers of God for evangelism, and infrastructure development for rural communities, hence the floating of another foundation called United Pastoral Foundation.

Aletor’s educational sojourn began from St Patrick’s Catholic School, Bacita in Kwara State; to Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan; Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo and then the University of Lagos, where he acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Insurance in 1985. He has also obtained an MBA from the prestigious University of Ibadan

He has carved a niche for himself through hard work, dedication and total adherence to professional standards.

His working career began with a mandatory National Youth Service at Tonero Douglas & Company from where he moved to Sentinel Assurance Company Limited where he served as the Head of Marketing Unit. Thereafter, he moved to Crusader Insurance Plc, where he served excellently within the marketing department.
