The Kaduna State government is seeking the collaboration of the Federal Government for the revival of ailing industries and new investments in the state.

The state governor, Mr Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, made the call at the   weekend in Abuja while paying a courtesy visit to the Minister of Trade and Investment. Mr Olusegun Aganga, in  his office.

Mr Yakowa, who disclosed that he was impressed with the giant strides of the minister at the ministry of finance and now at the Trade and Investment ministry, stated that for Nigeria to attain the Vision 20:2020 goals, a lot of investments must be put in place.

Apart from investments in oil and gas, the governor stated that prospective investors must also look into the direction of mining and agriculture

Disclosing that Kaduna State is second to Lagos state in the area of industrialisation, Mr Yakowa regretted that most of the industries that had in the past contributed to high employment turn over such as the various textile mills  and automobile companies in Kaduna were now moribund.

To ensure that these industries regain their lost glories, the governor sought the collaboration of the Trade and Investment ministry and other agency of the ministry like the Bank of Industry in their revival.

Responding, Mr Aganga commended the governor for being passionate about the social and economic development of Kaduna State.

The minister, who reiterated his readiness to work closely with the Kaduna State Government, stated that the Federal government was keen on the revival of the textiles and automobile companies that had gone into distress in the country.
