July Prayers

WE are now in July. And we must pray fervently against different kinds of mishaps hopping and winging nigh. When they come they will do so with tyrannical and oppressive ferociousness and violent ferocity. And new slogans and doctrines will be put forward. Before then, we shall be witnesses to the enormous upswing in the number and magnitude of occurrences everywhere. In the end, Nigeria shall be in Africa and the world a leading exemplar in the masses’ and people’s demand for the right to a better life and a progressive political system.

Let’s take a cursory peep into the yesterday of this column. If you are not an amnesia sufferer and patient, you definitely would remember that well more than three forth-nights ago, I did a piece called “The cruellest month” in which I asserted that from then on, that is, from that day in April, 2012, things would rapidly move in the direction that we are now seeing. The observation was made that Boko Haram would intensify its escapades, if its acts of terrorism in the land can be so called. Thereafter, this column concerned itself with other pertinent pieces which bordered on social-revolutionary tendencies. And in the recent past it revived aspects of its series on prophetic and spiritual writing. In each case, the goal was to alert the masses and their autocratic leaders that sooner or later “Tyranny shall fall, and the people shall rise - mighty, free, and strong!”

Now we are in July. The masses, in full harmony with all educated and right-thinking people, are warming up to howl down the political and economic cannibals who are the representatives of the autocrats, that is, the Turks in the presidency and parliament in Abuja. We must pray that the single current directed against the autocracy will not recoil and cause us unexpected harm. Public unrest that this presidency will cause to grow everywhere should not lead us to an untoward end. With fervent prayers, it won’t, so pray passionately, dear, dear readers and dear, dear Nigerians. O you Christian adherents, pray! And our dear Muslims and Islamic faithful, pray! Pray passionately!

Now, two forth-nights ago, in “Olabayo who must be obeyed,” it was observed here that more plane crashes were on the horizon, visible and celestial. We called upon all of us to utter sincere prayers to keep them at bay. We also said that we would alert Nigerians when we receive revelations of an impending disaster. Dear, dear readers, dear, dear Nigerians, pray, pray, pray against another air crash this July. This revelation will cause no harm if we pray earnestly to ward off the evil machinations of the hollow ones who are too far gone in their rapacious and cannibalistic ways in the world of the occult. They want more and further blood to keep the people in their cannibalistic and autocratic check. They are renewing their grip on economic and political power. DANA and Bellview or Sosoliso and other past crashes are a child’s play in comparison with what the great prophet (and In and Out) are seeing. The very thought of this revelation sends a cold shiver down my spine and makes me wish for nothing but a place to dig and hide in. Prophet Olabayo knows the exact airline, but he is praying seriously, fervently to distort and paralyze the labour of evil-power that wishes to influence the outrage. Pray, Nigerians, pray against the success of the evil ones.

And did you read Sunday Tribune of 1st July, 2012? If you did, you would see the revelatory picture, a brilliant exclusive, of three greatly historical personalities in the land on the front page of our country’s oldest and most truthful newspaper. The three great personages are President Jonathan and his Vice, Namadi Sambo and the Oba of Benin, whose “presence” was obvious in his absence, but very glaring in his majestic chair and well wrought leopard mirroring his mightiness. The occasion was a courtesy visit by the leading duo in the country to Omo N’Oba Erediauwa’s palace. This was before the PDP governorship’s recent campaign in Benin on Saturday, 30 June, 2012. The picture of the hatless numbers one and two Nigerian citizens waiting in vain for the Oba, “stopped” by the “gods” from seeing them in the open, shall remain a leading exclusive document in Nigeria’s presidential museum generations and ages to come. And students and scholars of semiotics have much to make of the scoop, the radiant picture which speaks volumes and volumes. Of course, the President eventually saw the Oba alone in the latter’s out-of-the-public eyes’ chamber, but the but of the waiting experience shall forever remain the but of the waiting experience in PDP’s political stalwarts’ and juggernauts’ memories.

The president must have been so flustered by the event that when he appeared at the campaign rostrum in Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium he called Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin and one of the Oba’s emissaries, a traditional ruler! He even requested his royal blessings come July 14, if I got him right. Of course, when he made those campaign errors, the applause he got was anything but mute. Again, he introduced the PDP gubernatorial candidate as “Major Charles”. But Charles Ehigie Airhiavbiere is a Major-General, although retired. My O my! What a PDP and Nigeria’s “campaigngenic” president! The AIT that brought that event live to me was simply super. And when I read in the papers what transpired in the palace of the Oba, as I have alluded to above, the next day, Sunday the 1st of July, I appreciated in no small measure why our president could not pronounce “Major” Charles’ surname, “Major” Charles the PDP governorship candidate in the July 14, 2012 election! But “Airhiavbere” is not more mouth-twisting and tongue-bending than many Ijaw words and names I know.

From the grapevine, I have been admitted into the knowledge that the PDP felt (and still feel) badly bruised and assaulted by the palace event. “July 14 na die for Edo State” is a PDP recitation exercise now. Nigerians, let us pray, please let us pray well and well and well to halt the coming deluge. “Make July 14 nor be die for Edo State”. This must be our prayer focus–if election holds, our pre-and post-election prayer focus, this July. (By the way, the Palace has since issued a statement debunking all bad insinuations regarding the afore-said presidential visit. So all must end well that must end well).

However, regardless of whatever cleavages and cleavages there are between what we dream of and what exists in reality, it is hard, very hard to see a concrete return of the “Comrade–Governor” to government house – if election holds. The die is cast. Power pass power. Warri commandos can testify to this. You can even request Boko Haram to give us a testimony and testament on “Power pass Power.”

Now for some readers’ messages that need to be acknowledged: “A very good evening to you, Sir. I read Tribune every day. We must pray hard so that we escape the bad things coming. I love In and Out. If Lord Lugard’s joining us together for his selfish interest was a wrong decision, this is the right time to correct that mistake. The present elites are benefiting from it through false federalism or federalism by force. God will touch their hearts to hear the voice of God. Thanks. Adekanye Elijah.” Furthermore: “I read with great interest your analysis on the prophetic, it is not only true but certain unless we repent and pray. As a servant of God, I know men don’t like to hear this truth but their fancy. Let me say this: it will sweep men in all parties that killed, that stole even though men praise them today. Thanks. Mr. Oladunni.” Last but one: “Good morning, Sir. I have studied your In and Out. God is using you greatly. Thanks—Chino.” Lastly, for now: “My mouth was full of “Haa haa” on Edo’s last lines. Happy night rest.” Lanre Oseni.”

As we enjoy our night rest, we must pray and pray for our country. July is pregnant. Watch Out for “It is time.” Don’t miss it.
