Boko Haram crisis may break Nigeria -ACF warns Jonathan •Wants FG to dialogue with sect •Seeks re-organiation of other security agencies

THE Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has warned that unless the Jonathan-led administration takes the necessary action towards ending the Boko Haram crisis, its attacks on Nigerian towns and innocent souls have the capability of disintegrating the country.

The organisation, therefore, advised that the Federal Government should commit itself openly and unambiguously in guaranteeing the security of leaders of Boko Haram when eventually they come out for dialogue promised by President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Government should continue to persevere, uncover the true identity of these people, to be able to determine their demands or grievances and address those that may be genuine and in accordance with our laws,” the ACF said.

Briefing newsmen at the ACF national headquarters in Kaduna on Wednesday, Alhaji Aliko M. Mohammed OFR and Mr Anthony N.Z Sani, national chairman and national publicity secretary of the ACF respectively, said ACF called upon all people of good conscience who may have access to members of Boko Haram to urge them to take advantage of secure channels of communication to be provided by the Federal Government towards achieving a resolution of the current bloody impasse.

“Similarly, ACF calls upon and enjoins the leaders and members of Boko Haram to realise that no religious doctrine permits the killing of innocent lives. It is important to point out to them that they are inflicting terror, death and destruction upon people not in anyway responsible for whatever injustice they believe have been done to them.

“While it is true that the actions of Boko Haram are condemnable, it is also necessary to call upon the Federal Government and all our political leaders as well as all those in positions of authority, to recall the UN Resolution 1963 of 2010 which urges governments around the world to address underlying causes of civil unrest and social conflicts rather than resort to hard military power which rarely solve them.”

The federal and state governments, they said, should be seen to demonstrate fairness and justice in dealing with all issues of insecurity and infringement of the laws.

“ACF noted with concern some serious allegations by certain people to the effect that some people from other sections of the country were conspiring to cause high-level insecurity across the country with the clear intention of making the country ungovernable. Some of these allegations go as far as saying that there are plots to assassinate the president. They also alleged that southerners were not only being killed but that their attempts to flee the North were being blocked by northerners. These allegations have been written and widely publicised in the media. Considering the gravity of the allegations bordering on treason, the Forum calls on the government, as a matter of urgency, to investigate them for the purposes of prosecution,” the ACF said.

“ACF notes the well advertised changes made in the Nigeria Police for better services. However, in view of the widespread ineffectiveness with which current security challenges are being tackled, the forum calls on the government to extend similar re-organisation to all other security agencies, especially the intelligence community. We call on the government to be more proactive, more decisive and engage in less lamentations.

“The ACF reviewed the recurring calls for a national conference, and even a Sovereign National Conference, for the purpose, the proponents say, of re-defining the terms of our union. The forum concluded that the terms of our national union and those by which the Nigerian federation are run have been well defined in our constitution.

However, for the avoidance of doubt, it should be made clear that the North remains open to, and will be keen to discuss any ideas that may place Nigeria in a better position to meet the challenges of nation building and secure a better future for this and succeeding generations of Nigerians.”

If Arewa and it's leaders have nothing reasonable 2 say they could as well keep quiet and if they know the leaders of Boko Haram and they ought 2 know they should tell us.we all know their grievances and surely we can't give that 2 them. They have said they want Islamic Replubic of Nigeria and we can't give that 2 them so what is the point of the dialogue?

The reason that some people will be calling for dialogue with these satanic agents must be because they are not affected by what is going on or they stand to benefit. We are talking about Boko Haram that have killed innocent people in their hundreds including women and children and are still blood thirsty.. The whole world does not tolorate acts of terrorism in what ever form. Those calling for dialoge with Boko Haram should do a rethink. BOKO HARAM WANTS TO ISLAMISE NIGERIA BY ALL MEANS, THEY WANT SHARIA LAW ACROSS THE COUNTRY, THEY WANT NIGERIANS TO BECOME MOSLEMS OR DIE... SHOULD WE DIALOGUE WITH SUCH. The ACF whose members promised to make Nigeria !ungovernable!, if one of their's doesn't become president in 2011 are now soliciting for dialogue with BH?! I hope GEJ has removed the tomatoes in his eyes - as the face(s) of BH cannot become clearer! I hope GEJ can also read the writing on the wall.

Perhaps one need to remind those that have been asking for a dialogue with this terrorist group that the group has said on a number of times that it's not willing to dialogue, and even if it does, it's still doesn't make it right. What about justice to the thousands of victims of their activities? Secondly, in Nigeria today, the constitution supercedes any other rule. Even though our leaders pretend not to know what Boko Haram wants, the group as never hide it's intention to have full implementation of sharia law. In a secular state like ours, this demand will not be possible to meet. So the question now is that, on what basis will this dialogue begin?

I don't seem to understand the ACF as they're calling on the Federal government to dialogue with "Boko Animals" TERRORISTS. My question is, I hope the ACF are not indirectly implying that Nigeria should embrace "Sharia Law" as demanded by those bastards called "Boko Haram". When sharia law was introduced in parts of the northern Nigeria sometimes ago, did anyone or anybody from both the south-west and the south-east go against it... No! They must be dreaming to think Nigerians are affraid to see the country break. Come to think of it, who would love to claim enemies of God as his people ?

Pls where has ACF been during the chrismas day church boomings and other killings? Why is it now that they are coming out to warn against the law taking it's cause in a clearly established act of terrorism? Why have they remained mute all this while ? The ACF where are they since all these while? somebody said that he will make the regime of Jonathan ungovernable. Let them continue to use their stolen money to kill Nigerians, God will visit them one day and they will account for all their bad deeds. It is a pity that the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), the mouthpiece of Northern Nigeria can come out openly to be given conditons to the Jonathan Admnistration on how not to break Nigeria on the very day about 18 victims of Boko Haram's attack were given mass burial in Suleja. The ACF calling for "Dialogue" with Boko Haram and protection of their Leaders clearly confirmed that ACF knows the leaders and probably is AWARE of all their operations.The ACF should be kind enough to tell us on what basis the Federal Government should dialogue with Boko Haram and while they want their identities to be made secret.

The AFC is being hypocritical for not condemning Boko Haram group which falsely believe that the blacks in the south, west and eastern parts of Nigeria are kafiris and therefore sub human. This false belief is based on fake history written by the Europeans about Africa and the secret support and agreement between them and the Europeans to write off and or completely destroy the identity of the people of the Southern Area of Nigeria who are the first children of the Creator on earth and from whom, all other races emanated. To do this they, the Europeans fixed crooks and crooked men in top positions with fitting rewards and, with a new history of life, supported with horse on paper called religion, has given free passage for war mongers seeking for hegemony over the most godly people on earth, while ignoring the real issue of pursuing the oneness of mankind and The Creator. So, it is about time the AFC wake up to face the realities on the ground and stop using force to destabilise as an indirect way of inviting the army to take over Government in order to achieve their inordinate ambition, the end of which would not be palatable for the ACF.
We need peace and it would be wonderful for the AFC and Boko Haramu group to surrender to the Federal Government by joining the Government of Unity on ground. The clock is tickling and time is not on the side of the Northern leaders on the path they are treading now bearing in mind that the unity of this country is the paramount. Nigeria is awake.
