Share

Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has charged elite in Ibadan land to stop laying much on socials and refocus their priorities in order to give a sense of direction to the younger generation.

Ladoja gave this charge at the 16th induction ceremony of the executive committee of Omo Ajorosun Club, while delivering a keynote address, in Ibadan, recently.

He disclosed that the “dilemma in which our children find themselves today is due to lack of deep understanding of our culture,” saying that this has affected the capability of today’s children from holding their own in the competitive world they now find themselves.

He disclosed that unlike the old when physical wars were fought, the wars the elite have to fight today to liberate the society include war against poverty, collapsing educational system, degenerating social infrastructural and town planning.

Also, Chief Samuel Adegbite who chaired the occasion, declared that it was time for all forces to unite politically as of old in order to place Ibadan city at par with its contemporaries in other parts of the country.
