A literary organisation, The Authors, has concluded plans to celebrate the works of some Nigerian literary giants.

According to the president of the organisation, Adejare Faleti, the works to be studied include, Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart; Wole Soyinka’s The Interpreters; Adebayo Faleti’s Basorun Gaa; D.O Fagunwa’s Ogboju Ode Ninu Igbo Irunmole; Akinwumi Isola’s Saworoide, and many others iconic literary works.

Apart from celebrating the works of these great authors, the organisation is also looking towards assisting creative youths develop their artistic skills.

“As a result of this, the organisation will be coming out with an event that will focus on the spotting the creativity in the youth.

“This event will be coming up at the Pit Theatre, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife very soon”, Faleti said, while calling on youths who have artistic talents, especially in traditional drumming, to be on the look out.
