SharePopular Ifa priest and Osogbo high chief, Ifayemi Elebuibon, has been conferred with the prestigious title of Araba of Osogbo, and the formal installation of the international cultural exponent, will hold on September 17, 2010.
Araba is the highest ranking position among traditionalists in any Yoruba setting and he is the one who sees to the health of the town and that of the monarch. The Araba is also the one who will make divine pronouncement on any candidate chosen by the kingmakers to become king in the town.
Before now, Elebuibon was the Akoda of Osogbo. He became the Araba following the demise of the former Araba, High Chief Ifagbemi Omotoso, who departed this world early this year.
