THE Director-General, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, Oyo State, Dr Nteranya Sanginga, have advised agriculture researchers in the country to make sure that their works, especially research, is directed towards achieving a significant and impactfull result which members of the public would appreciate by seeing its manifestation on their standard of living.

Dr Sanginga stated this while addressing some researchers from different African countries at a programme held at the institute recently.

He said impactful, performance and significant results are very important in research, adding that any research which does not achieve this aims and objectives cannot be described as very helpful or beneficial.

Speaking further, the IITA director charged scientists to be more focus and determined in carrying out their duty, stressing that research purpose should be targeted  towards achieving food sufficiency, most importantly, for an average nuclear family in Africa.
