I’ll retire from Nigeria Police in 2008 - Adebayo

A former commissioner of police in Lagos State and now the Oba-elect of Emure-Ekiti in Ekiti State, Mr. Emmanuel Adebayo, has served a notice of his retirement from the Nigeria Police Force in January 2008. Mr. Adebayo dropped the hint in Lagos at the weekend at the solemnisation of the holy matrimony between his daughter, Olufunmilayo, and Mr. Taiwo Tijani.

At the church service held at the Christ Apostolic Church, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, the former police boss said he was a fulfilled officer, having served his fatherland for about 35 years in the police with the help of God and the goodwill of the people.

He further explained that “even if God now decides not to do anything for me after piloting me to come out of the Nigeria Police successfully, I will continue to thank Him until I die for all he has been able to do for me in my career as an accomplished officer.”

The Elemure-elect told the congregation that it was not an easy thing to come out of the Nigeria Police with an unblemished record after passing through what he also described as thick and thin periods in the service.
