Ali’s tenure, a disaster for PDP — Lar
Isaac Shobayo, Jos - 31.03.2008
Pioneer national chairman
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Solomon Lar, has stated that the exit of the immediate national chairman of the party, Senator Ahmadu Ali, “and his co-travellers” hasdemilitarised the party and the country’s polity.
Speaking with newsmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital, Chief Lar said all lovers of democracy within the party could now heave a sigh of relief and contribute their quota to the growth of the party and democracy, adding that the tenure of Ali and others was a disaster to PDP.
”With the exit of Ali and others, bye bye to garrison PDP. So long as you remove Ali and the garrison commander, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, everything is okay. All Nigerians, not PDP members alone, should celebrate the exit of Ali,” he said
He urged members of party and Nigerians to be patient on the chairmanship of the former President Obasanjo of the party’s Board of Trustees, adding that his days were numbered.
