Company (SPDC) on Wednesday donated buses worth N92 million to the host communities of Gbarain-Ubie Integrated Oil and Gas project.
The communities include Epie-Atissa, Okordia/Zarama and Kolo creek in Yenagoa and Ogbia local government areas of the state respectively.
Presenting the buses, the Manager, Major Projects of Gbarain-Ubie Integrated Oil and Gas Project, Mr. Graham Henly, said the gesture was to strengthen relationship between the host communities and the multinational companies.
According to him, the SPDC joint ventures believed in encouraging communities to have greater say in delivering their developmental needs as well as developing their respective areas of operation through provision of social infrastructure.
Speaking through the Project Manager, Mr. Yemi Kalejaye, Mr. Henry said the host communities would see the gesture as an avenue to further partner with the oil companies so as to put an end to the long years of acrimony.
