CNPP urges Yar’Adua to convene reconciliatory conference

THE Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) on Thursday called on President Umaru Yar’Adua to convene a reconciliatory national conference in the spirit of true democracy.
Addressing journalists in Lagos, the national chairman of CNPP, Dr Olapade Agoro, also called for the formation of a national government that would involve all political parties.
“Yar’Adua must prove that he has grown beyond party sentiments by refusing to shut the door against reasonable discussions that would move Nigeria forward,’’ he said.
Agoro contested the 2007 presidential elections on the platform of of the National Action Council (NAC).
