Police kill 2 robbery suspects in Kwara

THE police in Kwara
State have killed two
armed robbers who attempted to bribe policemen at a check point with N500 after snatching a blue Honda car with registration number KWA L 07 KEY at Adewole Housing Estate in Ilorin.
The robbers allegedly snatched the car from one Alhaja Kehinde at about 8.00 a.m. at her residence and demanded for money, jewellery and key to the car at gun point.
Parading the bodies of the suspected armed robbers at the state police headquarters, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mallam Tunde Muha-mmed, disclosed to newsmen that the suspects were shot dead at a check point in the outskirts of Ilorin while attempting to offer a bribe of N500.
He said the victim alerted the DPO of Adewole Estate Police Station, who contacted various police check points, a development that led to the killing of the robbers at Afon, along Ganmo Road.
The PPRO said in the process of searching the stolen vehicle, a pistol dropped from the pocket of one of the hoodlums and as they attempted to open fire on the policemen, “they were gunned down.”
