NSL doles out N50m to winners, promises more

Lagos, recently.As it prepares for another round of mega jackpot draws, the National Sports Lottery (NSL) said it had successfully disbursed N50 million to winners since no single individual was able to get the six matching numbers that would have earned him or her jackpot.

Giving a breakdown of how the money was shared, Mrs. Funke Kuti, Head of Marketing and Public Relations, said since no individual was able to match the six numbers to win the jackpot, the management of the company decided to spread the wealth around.

To this end, over 50 people who were able to match four out of the six numbers won over N500, 000 each.

It will be recalled that more than 10 people won N1million and above and were given their cheques during a ceremony held in Lagos.

The first port of call during the presentation was Ajah, a suburb in Lagos where a cheque for N1.6 million was presented to Mr. Victor Oziegbe , a businessman and part-time student of Lagos State University.

Mr.Oziegbe, one of the winners who played the lottery with N10,000, said he heard about the jackpot on the television and decided to play, saying that part of the prize money would be ploughed back into his business and the rest to pay his school fees. He had earlier won a new Honda Civic car at an earlier promo done by the company.

The jackpot promo was unveiled by the Managing Director of the National Sports Lottery, Dr. Odunlami Kola-Daisi, at a media interactive session held at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

Dr. Kola-Daisi stated at the session that it would be a yearly draw and the amount would increase progressively.

This, he said, was being done to enable Nigerians realise their dreams of becoming millionaires.

The jackpot promo was opened to individuals 18 years or above who purchased Lotto Nigeria tickets or took part in the Lotto Nigeria games.
