anpp, most inconsistent party - PDP

The end may not be in sight to the exchange of verbal war between the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), and its All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) counterpart in Oyo State with the latest venom coming from the ruling party in the state, which described the ANPP as a party that “will only see a good judiciary if the judgment is in their favour”.

The PDP, which was reacting to a statement credited to the ANPP that Governor Alao Akala of Oyo State who won the elction on the platform of the PDP would soon pack out of the Government House was contained in a release signed by it secretary, Alhaji Bashiru Akanbi.

According to the release, “the PDP has noticed with dismay the continous day dream of members of the ANPP and their governorship candidate, Alhaji Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, on the judgment of the Oyo StateElection Petition tribunal on the last 14 April 2007 governorship election. Prior to the judgment,ANPP had chosen various days of December, 2007 for Alao Akala to be vacate the Agodi Government House, forgetting that Akala was given a collective mandate of the good people of Oyo State to lead them to the promise land for the next four years.”

It stated further that, “The ANPP took delight in misleading the people through issuance of half truth and atimes, total falsehood. It had even prepared to celebrate their undeserved expected victory with different types of Aso Ebi, despite various media attacks on the personalities of the panel members, who remained undaunted and went ahead to give a good judgment based on facts and figures tendered by the petitioners and beyond any reasonable doubt”

It noted that “ it is very unfortunate that the ANPP chairman in the state who was priviledged to have sat in the court room on the day of judgment could still be thinking that his party has any case to present any defence at the Appeal Court. If the ANNP could give kudos to the Action Congress(AC) victory in Edo State, why not just accept defeat in the case of oyo State and throw in the towel.?”
