LG boss admonishes parents on immunization

THE combined efforts of both the Federal and State Governments at eliminating the six killer diseases ravaging children under the age of five years in the country is yielding positive results.

The Executive Chairman of Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State, Otunba Israel Akinwumi Ogundiran, said this is noticeable in the tremendous reduction in the prevalence of these deadly diseases in the society.

He made the observation at the flagging-off ceremony of Year 2008 Round 2 National Immunization Plus Days”, held on the play ground of the Baptist Primary School, Orile-Igbon town, recently.

The council boss, gave kudos to the two-tiers of government for their commitment and consistent battle against the diseases deforming children with the provision of free vaccines and necessary logistics.
