Group condemns NLC president’s comment on Oshiomhole’s victory

A socio-political group in Edo State, Edo For Progress(EFP), has condemned the statement made by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Abdulwahab Omar that “No judge can upturn Oshiomole’s victory again as prejudicial, intimidating and pre-emptive.

Prince Martins Obasunloye in a chat with Sunday Tribune said that the statement published in a newspaper yesterday showed how desperate the NLC and Oshiomole were to take Edo State at any cost.He pointed out that such statement “is not only reckless but anti-thetical to the rule of law and judicial process because the other party has signified the intention to contest the verdict at the Appeal Court”.

Prince Obasunloye said that “it is unfair and against the judiciary for a man to be able to predict what will happen at the next court when the case has not even commenced.”He pointed out that the statement “has rekindled the consciousness of many people to start questioning the fairness of the judgment of the Election Tribunal”.

“With this kind of statement and activity of Comrade Oshiomhole and NLC, there seems to be something fishy about the judgment.” Prince Obasunloye called on Nigerians and Edo State indigenes to clinically re-examine the Election verdict report clearly.

Meanwhile, concerned women of Edo State led by Mrs. Bridget Oronsaye has paid a solidarity visit to Governor Oserheimen Osunbor over the judgment of the Edo State Election Petition Tribunal which nullified the election of Osunbor as the duly elected Governor of Edo State.
