Eko Hotel Sky Restaurant for Valentine Day

In an attempt to stay at the forefront of dining trends and ever-changing consumer palates in Lagos, the management of Eko Hotel and Suites has concluded arrangement to open what will be known as the best restaurant in town.

The restaurant, a purely diner outlet that has been receiving finishing touches for months now will be officially open to the public next month.

According to Danny Kioupouroglou, the hotel’s Executive Assistant Manager, Sky Restaurant will feature among its menu parades Asian fusions from Thailand, India, Indonesia and western taste among others.

“The choice of official opening to the public on February 14, 2008 was deliberate to coincide with this year’s ‘Valentine Day’ to enable lovers treat themselves to something different” Danny noted.

From the ambiance of the restaurant, customers will have the opportunity of seeing Victoria Island like never before. From every seating position, one can see the beauty and sprawling Atlantic Ocean from the distance.

Apart from the spectacular view, the restaurant’s stunning and unique state-of-the-art décor will make it first among equals. The magnificent lightening is breathtaking, while the shelves hold some of the best and beautiful replica of some famous artifacts in the land.

With beautiful surroundings, fabulous lounge, well stock bar, well equipped kitchen and friendly staff, Sky Restaurant will help you to relax and enjoy the culinary creations of the two newly recruited chefs from Asia and their team.

The cozy restaurants can seat about 150 people in the configuration of singles, doubles, seating for four and a large table for twelve people.

The new restaurant is located on the top floor of the hotel main building that will no doubt give diner a new feeling and experience. Skye brings to six the number of restaurants in the hotel, with each serving variety of different culinary needs.

Tourists prepare for Xtianlympics

Xtainlympics, a Christian non-govern mental organization saddled with the idea of bringing youths across the globe together in order to unite them and create a sort of forum for them to meet and connect irrespective of their colour, race denomination and doctrine is a new dimension to evangelism, which has been used to praying, singing and preaching.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo state, Chief Michael Lana, first conceived the idea according to its Chairman, Chief Theophilus Akinyele and has since being working towards making it a reality until just recently when the body organized a Press conference to intimate Journalists about the idea and how they intend to make it work.

The aims and objectives include improving the economy and tourist values of Nigeria and even unite different nations and cultures together for an unprecedented worship and spiritual revival and rebirth, to be an event for purposeful prayers, praises and supplications, and to show case untapped talents in sports, music, dance, drama and evangelism.

He said the activities would also re-focus and redirect youthful energy towards purposeful activities and also culminate opportunity for governments, Industries, business and professional to tap from each other for developmental goals, provision of personal and professional healings and deliverance through the great Ministers of God

The targeted participants are churches Worldwide, International and Local Clubs, Companies, National, International and Multinationals, Corporations, Public and Private Tertiary Institutions, Secondary Schools and Colleges, Military and naval formations across the World, all the Security Agencies, Families and Individuals so that no one will be left out irrespective of their race, tribe and gender.

Some of the activities expected during the event includes Basketball, Football, Badminton, Swimming, Athletics, Golf and Table tennis, while in the recreational games Blindfold Tracker, Ayo Olopon, Treasure Hunt, Fishing, Soft drink Drinking competition, shoulder power drive Bread eating Completion will be staged in Nigeria between 12th and 19th October, 2008.

Apart from the unity of purpose that will be generated from the idea, it will serve as a tourist advantage and improve the economy of the Nation for host such a programme that was the first of its kind Worldwide.

Some of the youths nowadays are sick and tired of the orthodox Churches, which to them is quit boring and outdated, and would prefer to try a new idea, which will create fun and yet get the gospel messages across without diverting them from the gospel messages that could be beneficial to their lives.

However, Dinner Party that was organized to launch the Logo of Xtianlympics last Sunday at the Premier Hotel, Ibadan, which was unveiled by Dr. Erastus Akingbola, CEO, Intercontinental Bank Plc, who was represented by Mr. Femi Babalola while the Website of the organization was also launched at the event.

The initiator of the idea, Mr. Michael Lana said it will take Nigeria to a greater height both in sports and evangelism.
