What if your employee reports your escapades to your spouse?
By Olaronke Jaiyeola

A lady enjoying the comfort of a man’s lapsFriday night, as usual, was a time of rendezvous
for Chima, a time to paint the town red, while his
wife gets espoused to her pillow because her husband will not return, and even if he does, it will be at odd hours.Meetings, impromptu meetings, are always the reason for such moves of Chima.
One of those Friday evenings, Stella, Chima’s personal assistant, took up the task of informing Chima’s wife of her husband’s extra-marital affairs.
Giving a vivid description of the other lady in her boss’ life to his wife through a phone conversation, Stella went further to mention the colour of the dress the lady was putting on, alongside her hairdo and that she was right on her hubby’s laps.
Aggrieved and fuming over the deceit of her husband, Sandra, Chima’s wife took up her phone, dialled her hubby’s number, but he refused to pick the call.To him, it was a call of disturbance.
After the second attempt, which also proved abortive, she decided to call her husband’s friend, Lekan, who was with him. On picking the call, Sandra was apt and without mincing words, told Lekan to please tell her husband to maintain the position he was with the other lady, as she gave the exact description of the lady and the posture she took.
Shocked to the marrow as Lekan delivered the wife’s message to him, Chima immediately pushed the lady off his laps, as he wondered how his wife got access to such information.
After a thorough investigation, he got to know it was the handiwork of his personal assistant. At that instance, Chima sacked his P.A for the ‘misconduct’.
This made ST Relationships to seek some Nigerians’ opinions on what their reaction would be if one of their employees reports their escapades to their spouses. What will they do?
Pastor Popoola Taiwo: Assuming that happens, which I don’t pray or plan for, I will be mad and rabid against that employee, but may pardon her, though I will doubt her for life.Be that as it may, I will make reconciliation with the Lord, as I pray for establishment of my spirituality with him and with my wife. I know it will be tasking naturally to explain and for her to pardon me, but I will try to, because I have wronged her.
Ese Chibuso: There is what we call invasion of privacy which everybody has to protect. And under normal circumstance, it is idleness that will make an employee report his or her boss’ escapade(s) to the spouse. As far as I am concerned, if such should happen to me, I will definitely give such employee summary dismissal without any entitlement. He or she will not go unpunished for wanting to tarnish my image.
I’m imploring the House of Assembly to pass a bill that will guard against invading into someone’s privacy.
John Erastus: I will sack that employee of mine for trying to destroy my home. How could she report me to my wife? It is none of her business. And for her to go to that extreme, who knows? She may be scheming more deadly things for me against the future.
Under the constitution, there should be a provision for whoever interferes with one’s private life.Maybe such should be made to pay compensation for interfering in one’s personal affairs.
I will make sure she is dismissed without any entitlement, because such a person could also betray the trust of the company in the longrun. So, I will use my discretion in handling the situation but, for the good of my home and progress of my company, I will definitely sack her.
Mr. Taiwo O.M: I will definitely not sack her but I will start an erotic relationship with the employee, give her what she wants to keep her mouth permanently sealed.
Olayiwola Adeniyi Sulaiman: I will not sack the employee in question, but I will seek for the wisdom of God to handle the situation.
Festus Olisah: I don’t think it would ever happen to me, but if it does, I will sack the employee for trying to break up my marriage. The Bible says, “what the Lord has joined together, let no man put asunder.” By that action of hers, she’s ready to put my marriage asunder.
Olagunju Kayode: Such a thing has never happened to me, but in case it does, that employee will have to first leave my company and my vicinity. Then, I will apologise to my wife for forgiveness. After reconciliation has been made, I will look for a more serious and reliable person to replace the P.A..
Mr. Adewusi Ayobami: My answer goes thus: Once I know she is the one that let out the secret, I will definitely sack her, but I will be giving her what she wants.Definitely, such a person wants to have me look in her direction.
Mr. Adams Ibrahim: How would anyone want to destroy all I have laboured building? Why can’t the fellow keep her busybody to issues that concern her and leave my family alone? At least, it is my life, I mean , my privacy we are talking about here. And men, for who we are, must have moments of enjoyment and I have given my wife enough respect by not taking the other lady anywhere near her. My sister, I will not only sack the employee but make her lose her own relationship too.
