Community sends SOS to IG over kidnapping

RESIDENTS of Ukwa-East local government in Abia State have sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) message to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Mike Okiro over activities of kidnappers in the area.

The message, signed on behalf of the communities in the local government area by Chiyere Awaiwe and made available in Abuja, indicated that the communities have been groaning under the perpetual attack of the kidnappers in the last one month.

It read: “Force Headquarters Abuja, Please save our soul. In less than one month, unknown gunmen kidnapped two medical doctors, all indigenes of Ukwa-East local government area in Abia state.

“The first incident happened along Azumini/Obehie Road, while the second incident happened along Azumini/Aba Road.”
