Okada operations banned in Abia State

DISMAYED that most of the incidences of kidnapping and armed robbery perpetrated in Abia State were carried out with the use of motorcycles which aid the criminals to escape easily after carrying out their nefarious activities, the Abia State government has banned operations of commercial motorcycle operators.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Abia State governor, Sam Hart, that was made available to Sunday Tribune, said crime rate has persisted despite several meetings that the government held with commercial motorcycle operators to sanitise their operations and find a way to weed out bad elements in their midst.
