Nigerian coach advocates elevation of coaching techniques

A Nigerian UEFA PRO-licensed coach, Mr. Donald Malomo Paris has advocated elevation of many aspects of the coaching techniques to bring stability to the profession.

Speaking at the coaching clinic organised by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Abuja chapter, in collaboration with DMP Consulting of Northern Ireland for coaches in the Federal Capital Territory; he said many local coaches had not really felt the impact of their foreign counterparts, due to non-transfer of the much-needed knowledge to bridge the digital device.

He said that the clinic was designed to upgrade participants’ knowledge and skills in operational, regulatory and management of football, provide an indepth understanding of the game so as to keep abreast of the latest development in coaching practices; and expose the participants to the various techniques of modern coaching and to encourage the coaches to learn continuously.

The University of Ibadan graduate who is the first team coach of Lisburn Distilley F.C of Northern Ireland said he was prepared to work with the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) in coaching education.

Those who attended the clinic held at the Old Parade Ground, Garki, Abuja, included professional league team coaches, amateur league coaches, youth club coaches and para-military football coaches in FCT among others.

Certificates of participation were distributed to the participants in the day-long technical programme.
