Wrestling Alliance world heavyweight champion, Great Power Uti has said that the basic problem facing the Nigerian wrestling sector is lack of sufficient funding for promotions.
He declared in an interview with brilafm.net that the bane of professional wrestling in the country had to do primarily with lack of sponsors to keep the sport at the high level it used to be.
“It’s basically all about money, and the lack of sponsors to keep the flag flying. We, the wrestlers, are doing our best to make the game grow and remain high, but we don’t have enough financial back-up to encourage Nigerian professional wrestlers and make us get better,” he said.
Power Uti also spoke on why he has not been using the office space given him within the premises of the National Stadium, in Lagos saying “That is not true.”
