Moyes demands Champions League ticket from Yobo, others

Everton manager David Moyes saluted his side after the Toffees’ win over Manchester City but urged them to remain focused on qualifying for the Champions League.

The Toffees which parade Nigerian players, Yobo Joseph, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Victor Anichebe won 2-0 to move fourth in the Premier League and Moyes said: “Our players showed their quality.

“It was a great performance - we had watched everybody else play first this weekend, which brings its own pressure.

“To get 50 points by this stage of the season is fantastic and we have to keep building on it.

Everton is now three points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool after an impressive display at Eastlands.

“We played really well,” Moyes added. “We scored two good goals and we could have had another two or three. “On top of that we had some good defending to make sure we didn’t concede any.

“For us to take six points off City this season is really good - we are playing with a real desire but also maturity as well - which has come from our games in Europe and helped us. “There is a belief we can get good results - and I certainly believe in the players.”
