Ekiti govt restates commitment to infrastructural development

28.02.2008

EKITI State Commissioner for Works and Infrastucture, Prince Tunji Olatunde, has reiterated the commitment of Governor Segun Oni’s administration to infrastructural development of the state.

Prince Olatunde said this in his office while playing a host to the management team of Sun Power Solare.

Prince Olatunde said the state governor was searching for the best in technology for solar installations across the state because the state would not accept any contractor who would turn it into a dumping ground.

The Managing Director of the company, Engineer Ola Ilesanmi, who led the team, said Sun Power Solare, in partnership with Meridiana Impianti of Italy, would give the state what it needed to be the first and best in Africa in terms of solar power energy.

Ilesanmi said the company had acquired seven hectares of land along Ado-Afao Road to build a factory for the manufacturing of electrical materials which includes solar module panel, reinforced concrete poles and others.

He also said the company would train 20 indigenes of the state every year for the next four years on energy maintenance and other knowledge in solar power generating.
