Akala’s aide, BCOS officials to face ICPC Wednesday

Special Adviser on Public Communication to the Oyo State governor, Prince Dotun Oyelade, and top management staff of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) will be quizzed next Wednesday by operatives of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in Abuja over an alleged scandal in the handling of contracts in the media outfit.

Nigerian Tribune gathered from a reliable source within the commission that summons to appear before the commission in Abuja had been dispatched to the affected persons.

The commission is investigating, among other issues, an alleged N9 million contract scandal in the establishment of a cyber café, which had not taken off.

It was gathered that the investigation was triggered by petitions alleging fraud in the finances of the BCOS between June and October 2007 when Oyelade was calling the shots in the station.

When contacted, Oyelade denied the allegations. He said himself and others invited would be present at the ICPC office as requested, stating that he had nothing to hide.
