Federation secretary-general, Luke Olusola has said that victory at the recent WAC Junior Tennis Olympics qualifiers did not come on a platter of gold for the nation’s team, especially after going through hard times during preparation.
He recalled in an interview with brilafm.net that, at a point, they had to depend on a generator for power supply and hired labourers to do what the National Sports Commission (NSC) officials could have done.
“It was not easy, to say the least. With our camp thrown into darkness, we just had to rely on our own generator to supply electricity.
“We also had to hire casual workers around to do some repair and other jobs that should normally have been taken care of by the ministry,” he said.
