Flora Archibong joins Tribune

MS Flora Archibong is royalty in the Nigerian advert world. She has the touch of Midas, who was a king. Ms Archibong has a record of turning the base metal of loss into the gold of galloping revenues.

The facts speak forcefully for themselves. As Advertising Manager at Vanguard Media Ltd, she dramatically increased the advert revenues of the company. The company was so impressed that it created a new position specially for her. She was appointed Assistant General Manager (Adverts).

Ms Archibong rose to the occasion, surpassing the expectations of her bosses. Advert revenues had been a mere N3 million monthly in 1995, but they shot up to N100 million monthly in 2006. She achieved this by aggressive marketing and by blocking conduits of cash leakage.

Ms Archibong has previously worked at the Champion Newspaper after national service at the NTA Maiduguri. She was a pioneer member of staff of the newspaper organisation and rose to the position of Assistant Advert Manager. Industrial training at Lintas Limited had sparked her interest in advertising.
She has won many awards:

1. Best Advertising Practitioner Awards awarded by APCON fellows— 2006. 1st time and none since then;

2. Efficiency Award by APCON’s Advertising Standards Panel (ASP)— 2005;

3. Appreciation Award — Kanu Heart Foundation;

Member: Audit Bureau of Circulation (NBCN) Steering Committee Judges at various events including:
1. Poster awards — OAAN;
2. Advert of the Year — NTA;
3. Telecom Awards — 2006, and many others

Ms Archibong supports worthy causes. She promotes the welfare of orphans, widows and cancer patients.

She has travelled widely and is never far from a good book. The African Newspapers of Nigeria is happy to have her.
