Again, fire razes buildings at RSUST

THE Bursary department of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) as well as the Students Affairs Department of the institution went up in flames on Wednesday, making it the second time in less than two months.

The fire destroyed virtually everything in the affected sections. Things affected by the inferno included office equipment like tables, chairs, file cabinets and documents in the cabinets.

At the time the Nigerian Tribune visited the scene of the incident, no one could say what might have possibly caused the fire.

Efforts to reach the acting Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Bari Fakae, were unsuccessful as he was said to be out of Port Harcourt.

It would be recalled that the same Bursary department went up in flames about three months back, an incident which resulted in the total overhauling of the school's administration and management.
