IBB Varsity Vice Chancellor Resigns

THE pioneer Vice- Chancellor of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State, Professor Mohammed Chado, has resigned his appointment.

Professor Chado, in the resignation letter dated June 25, 2009 which was sent to the Visitor of the university and Niger State governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, said he left the job for “personal reasons.”

In the letter, the VC said that the position of the vice chancellor of any university was a “rare opportunity every academic always wishes to aspire to,” adding that he “enjoyed working with the chairman and members of the council, senate, deans, heads of departments and staff in the university and the Ministry of Higher Education.”

“Sir, due to personal reasons, I wish to resign my post as vice chancellor with effect from July 8, 2009. I thank the administration for tolerating my academic-related odds and peculiarities since your administration came in May 2007,” Chado said.

Professor Chado was appointed by the former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulkhadir Kure, when the institution was founded.
