Court Adjourns Ribadu’s Case

A federal high court sitting in Maitama, Abuja has, again, adjourned ruling on the case brought before it by the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, challenging his dismissal from the Police force, till July 3.

The judge, Justice Mustapha Abdullahi, announced the new adjournment date on Friday.

While giving the new date, he noted that he had to adjourn the ruling because the court decision on the matter was not ready.

The court had earlier fixed June 24 for its ruling, but on the said date, the absence of the judge stalled the ruling.

The former EFCC boss had dragged the Police Service Commission (PSC), Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation before the court challenging his dismissal from the force.

Mallam Ribadu was dismissed from the force on December 23, 2008.

One of the counsels in the case had told our sister publication, Nigerian Tribune, on Wednesday that the court would rule on the matter on Friday.
