Community Protests Over Siting Of Petrol Stations

THE Felele Olorunsogo Community in Ibadan South East Local Government Area of Oyo State has called on relevant authorities to come to the aid of the community, as there are too many petrol stations in the area.

The residents of the community also protested the displacement of market women from their market, with the intention of building another petrol station in the area.

While speaking with the SaturdayTribune, the Baale of Felele-Olorunsogo, Chief Abdul-Hamd Osuolale Alesinloye, said the community as a whole, was against the construction of another petrol station in the area, as there are about six already in the community.

Alhaji Alesinloye said the most painful aspect of it was the displacement of the market women from their market, saying the market is the only one they have in the area.

The Baale also used the opportunity to call on the local government to assist in the rehabilitation of some roads in the community, saying some roads in the area are in such a terrible state that they needed rehabilitation.
