ANNP Plots Against Gov Yuguda Over Defection

As Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State formally defects to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in Bauchi today, the ANPP has vowed to resist any attempt for the governor to convert ANPP structure for his personal gains in the 2011 election.

The party has already accused the governor of engineering the impeachment process against his deputy, Alhaji Muhammed Garba Gadi, in the state House of Assembly, because of his failure to join him in defecting to the PDP, and has, therefore, warned him to stop intimidating its members in the state.

Saturday Tribune gathered that apart from intensifying its efforts to mobilise its supporters against the governor, the ANPP has concluded arrangements to drag Governor Yuguda to court to challenge his action.

ANPP is confident that the move against the deputy governor would fail despite the fact that the governor has garnered the two thirds majority of members required in the state House of Assembly to impeach his deputy, still he has not been able to come up with valid impeachable charges against him.

The party is now trying to encourage its members to resist any financial inducements allegedly being offered by Governor Yuguda to lure them away from the ANPP to the PDP through a systematic process of re-orientation.

The National Publicity Secretary of the ANPP, Mr. Emmanuel Eneukwu who confirmed this to Saturday Tribune in Abuja, disclosed that the party would refrain from using force against Governor Yuguda while confirming that ANPP lawyers have been instructed to prefer a case against him.
