A medical doctor
(namewitheld) and
a nurse, who were alleged to have been hired by Alhaji Isiaka Akinjide Olore to procured abortion for female inmates at his illegal detention camp located in Sabo, Ojoo area of Ibadan have been arrested by the police.
While explaining how the suspects were arrested to Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Bisi Okouwobi, said it had become imperative for police to unravel the truth about the detention camp, in view of the public condemnation of artocities committed by the owner against the inmates since the incident was first reported a few days ago.
According to her “we are not living any stone unturned, the owner of the camp, Alhaji Olore, is in detention, we are currently interrogating him on why and how he has been operating the detention camp.”
It will be recalled that the state police command, last Friday, uncovered another illegal detention camp in Ojoo area of Ibadan where at least 60 inmates were allegedly tortured to death and buried secretly in the last two years.
The victims said that they were turned to cannibals as they were forced to prepare and eat the remains of their dead colleagues with their captors.
At the Special Anti Robbery Squad where the inmates were kept, one of the female victims told the Nigerian Tribune that she along with other females colleagues were subjected to sexual abuse which had led to pregnancy.
Nigerian Tribune also reliably gathered that the female inmates were able to recognise the detained doctor and nurses, who were alleged to have been hired by the owner of the illegal detention camp to procure abortion for them.
