Intercontinental Bank promotes 1,050

Intercontinental Bank Plc has announced a promotion exercise that saw 1,050 members of staff promoted to various positions. The promotion, which cuts across all departments and ranks, is significant as it is the largest number of staff ever promoted in the history of the bank.

Only recently, the bank announced the promotion of one of its top ranking officers, Mr. Simon Aranonu, to the position of Executive Director Aranonu, until his elevation, was Controller and Regional Chief Executive of the bank in charge of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

His promotion, the bank said, was in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the bank, especially at FCT where he was said to have moved the bank’s business to a remarkable growth.

The beneficiaries of the promotions include two former Deputy General Managers – Mr. .Bola Shodipo, Regional Business Executive, and Mr. Soji Jenyo, Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Executive, who were promoted General Managers.

Four Assistant General Managers, Muyiwa Adedeji, Segun Olugbemi, Adeolu Olaobaju, and Stanley Ngwaba, were also promoted Deputy General Managers while nine Senior Managers moved up to Assistant General Managers position. They include Henry Alakhume, Fransisca Pablo-Amaran, Kayode Awolu, Mohammed Adamu, Oyekunle Oyesola, Ola Oyinloye and Ekeocha Ijeoma.

Twenty four managers also got elevated to Senior Managers level while 46 Deputy Managers were elevated to full Manager status. The highest number of staff promoted was in the Executive Assistant level where 486 were elevated to Senior Executive Assistant level.

The Group Chief Executive, Dr. Erastus Akingbola, said the bank expected that the promotion would go a long way towards in strengthening the resolve of staff to further move forward in the realisation of the bank’s corporate goals and objectives.
