Election: Police restricts movement in Kogi

THE Police authorities have restricted movement within Kogi State on Saturday between 6.00 a.m and 4.00 p.m.

Towards this end, there will be stop and search in and around the state particularly from Abuja at Chitara, Koton Karfi and Lokoja, and also from Okene direction to Ogorimagogo and Otubga junctions and from Ajaokuta direction to Egehe junction and before the bridge.

Police Spokesman, ACP Agberebi Akpoebi, who announced this in Abuja on Tuesday, warned all motorists plying through Kogi to cooperate with the police by submitting themselves for search.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Chief Maurice Iwu, has said that the pre election violence rocking Kogi State will not halt the election.

Iwu stated this at the stakeholders meeting held at the INEC office, Lokoja with some governorship candidates in attendance.

The INEC boss who declared the readiness of the commission to conduct free and fair election in the state, said any politician who caused someone to die should first of all comit suicide.
