Police arrest 3 more over Oyadeyi’s murder

THREE more persons were arrested on Tuesday over the death of Chief Demola Oyadeyi, former Oyo State Permanent Secretary killed at Akobo area of Ibadan. Chief Oyadeyi was shot dead when a two-man gang of armed robbers stormed his Demoya Petrol filling station.

The police had, on Monday, announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the incident on Tuesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ms. Olabisi Okuwobi, said four men and a woman had been arrested.

Meanwhile forensic experts from the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) were on Tuesday led to the scene of the murder of Chief Oyadeji by the officer in charge of SCID Taiwo Lakanu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The forensic experts are expected to inspect objects recovered from the scene with the purpose of unravelling the identity of those behind the murder.

Okuwobi made this known to the Nigerian Tribune while speaking on the efforts of the Police towards unmasking his killers.

In a related development, an attendant at the Demoya Filling station has been declared wanted by the Police.

The attendant whose name was kept secret was said to have been at large as police rounded up his colleagues who were staff members of the filling station for interrogation over their possible complicity in the murder of their boss.

The Police had also called on members of the public to give them useful information about the killing of Chief Oyadeyi.

Ms. Okuwobi, promised that such information would be made secret, while it would also assist the police to unravel the mystery behind the murder.
