Fortune tellers, head hunters search for missing plane

Gill, Nsa-Abasi, Calabar - 26.03.2008

The official search team comprising the officials of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Cross River State government may have engaged the services of fortune tellers and head hunters in their desperation to locate the missing Beechcraft 1900 aircraft which was declared missing since March 15.

The search light is now being beamed at the Obanliku mountain dominated by steep inline, high mountains, rocky valleys with an over-hanging foggy weather which makes aircraft navigation and foot patrol difficult.

Indications over the recruit of fortune tellers emerged on Monday as NEMA provided the head hunters and fortune tellers with rain coats and boots.

A meeting of the five council chairmen in the northern part of the state alongside the team leader, Mr Casmir Obok, NEMA officials and the helicopter pilots in Obudu at the weekend under the instruction of Govewrnor Liyel Imoke, came to the consensus that since searches in other areas had not yielded results, the mountain areas should be the next focus.
