Lagos PDP LG congresses fail to hold

The Peoples Democratic party (PDP) local government congress, scheduled to hold on Monday did not hold in the local government secretariat of the party in Lagos State.

Visit to some of the party secretariat in the state revealed there was no sign of any congress holding, while some members of the party found around claimed they were expecting materials for the congress from the state secretariat of the party, and as of 2 p.m the materials were was yet to be received.

Some members of the party spoken to admitted that, there was no congress, adding that some leaders of the party were just compiling list of delegates.

A faction of the party in the state, led by Kamal Olorunoje, made good their threat not to participate in the congress because there was a court injunction preventing the state chapter of the party from conducting any congress, until a case restricting the party pending in court was determined.
