US To Contribute Over $304m To Nigeria

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Ms Robin Sanders, has said that her country’s contribution to Nigeria for 2008 will exceed the $304 million it contributed last year.

Sanders made the statement on Friday in Jos when she visited the Harvard AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN) project site at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

She said, “I am pleased to highlight that the proposed US Government contribution to Nigeria for 2008 will exceed the 2007 commitment of $304 million.”

She explained that the APIN project was an integral part of the US Government and Nigeria’s response to HIV and AIDS.
