4 ANPP members die in auto crash

Four members of the
All Nigeria Peoples
Party (ANPP) in Yobe State died on Saturday in a motor accident on Gashua-Damaturu road while travelling to attend the party's stakeholders meeting in Damaturu.
A statement by Malam Aminu Usman, Press Secretary to deputy governor, Ibrahim Geidam, on Monday in Damaturu, said the ANPP Secretary in Bade Local Government Area, Garba Dala, was one of those who died in the accident.
The other party members who lost their lives were Mohammed Jimbo,Tukur Kaji and Garba Tagali, the statement said.
However, the council's vice chairman, Ibrahim Kokolo, and three others sustained injuries.
The statement said that the state ANPP vice-chairman, Alhaji Ali Aware, had condoled with the families of the victims and donated bags of rice, millet and maize to the families.
Aware also disclosed the party’s intention to sponsor the education of the children of the deceased and donated N60,000 to each of the families of the accident victims, the statement added.
It said that Alhaji Ahmed Dawayo, Chairman of Bade Local Government Area, also donated 14 bags of assorted grains to the victims’ families.
