Osun allocates N210m loan to unemployed graduates

Osun State governmnet has allocated about N210 million as loans to unemployed graduates to solve youth unemployment in the state.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mrs. Ayomide Farounbi-Seriki, disclosed this in Osogbo on Monday at a ministerial press briefing anchored by the state Ministry of Information and Youth Development.

Mrs. Farounbi-Seriki, who said that youth employment had become a concern for the government, stated that it had decided to introduce basic entrepreneur scheme by encouraging the youth to start their own small scale industries.

She said that the youth would train in some vocations while loans would be given to them to start their trade. On the establishment of industrial estates, the commissioner said that the Osogbo site would accommodate 39 industries while Ilesa site would cater for 69 industries.
