THE President of the
Senate, Senator
David Mark, has said that the Senate will not condone non-implementation of the appropriation bills that have been duly passed by the National Assembly.
The Senate President, who stated this in his Christmas message on Monday, said that henceforth, the upper legislative chamber will no longer condone non-implementation of budgets.
The Senate President stated that the Senate would no longer accept the “flimsy excuses” often given by the executive arm of government as reasons for non-implementation of budgets.
He said that the legislature was bent on maintaining cordial relationship with the executive, adding that the need to ensure thoroughness in the performance of oversight functions did not negate maintainance of cordial relationship between the two arms of government.
