National Hospital sex scandal: CMD’s love letter tendered in court

The sexual harassment saga rocking the National Hospital, Abuja assumed a new dimension on Thursday with a love letter, allegedly authored by the embattled Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Olusegun Ajuwon, to a nurse, Ihuoma Chinasa Doris, tendered as an exhibit before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Doris, an employee of the hospital, dragged Ajuwon, his wife, Julie and five others before the court over alleged sexual harassment and unethical practices against her.

The signed letter, tendered by Doris’ legal team, was reportedly delivered by the Dr Ajuwon himself when he visited the nurse and found that she was not at home.

The time on the letter showed that it was composed around 6:00 p.m.

The content of the letter read: “Ihuoma Dear, I will come back to pass the night with you. For your info, say yes to my request and I will provide u your heart desire. Your love, Ajuwon”.

Another letter tendered before the court was allegedly written by a Matron, Deborah Olorunmaiye, who is an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer in charge of In-Patients Male Surgical, persuading Doris to give in to Ajuwon’s advances to save her job.

Doris asked the court to save her life and job, alleging that the respondents were out to destroy her and her career.

In their response, the respondents asked the court to dismiss the action on the grounds that the plaintiff lacked the wherewithal to pay for damages in the event of loss of the substantive suit.
