Mantu’s days in Senate are over - Plateau AC

THE Action Congress (AC) in Plateau State has implored the former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, to back out of the re-run election for the Plateau Central Senatorial District to avoid another round of disgrace, saying that his days in the Senate were over.

Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Jos, the chairman of the party in the zone, Alhaji Ado Ismaila, said the sentiments that worked against him in 2007 and the frustration the people of the zone and Plateau State in general went through during his eight years in the Senate were still fresh in their memory.

“He simply wants to take us for a ride and the people of the zone and Plateau State as a whole would not succumb to his antics.

“We have had enough of him. So, it is better for him to forget the ambition of participating in the re-run election to avoid second disgrace at the poll,” he said.

He said if the re-run election in the central zone was done 20 times, Mantu would lose because the forces that ensured his failure for the third time were still intact.

According to him, by the zoning arrangement in the zone, Mangu, where Mantu comes from, had had its turn in the last eight years and it was now the turn of Kanke.

He added that after that, it would be the turn of Pankshin or any of the five local government areas that make up the zone.
