Woman healed of multiple illnesses at Baptist convention

One of the participants at this year’s Baptist Convention, which took place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Mrs. Mary Aplaka, was on Thursday healed of multiple illnesses at the convention ground of the Baptist Grammar School, Idi-Ishin.

Mrs. Aplaka, from Kaduna State, suffered from liver and heart problems, alongside hearing defection for years. She said she was considered an outcast, because of her problems, by the people, saying that the pains, as a result of her sicknesses, were too much for her.

Recounting her ordeal to journalists, Mrs. Aplaka said the sickness started as typhoid fever in 1988 when she was in Jos, Plateau State, and that she later moved to Kaduna State for better treatment. “The sickness started in 1988 in Jos as typhoid before we moved to Kaduna.

Then I was a teacher. The drugs they gave me in Jos, according to a doctor in Kaduna, damaged my heart, liver and hearing,” the woman lamented. Speaking with the Nigerian Trubune, the Executive Director of Women Missionary Auxilliary to the Nigerian Baptist Con-vention, Reverend (Mrs.) Yemi Ladokun, said Mrs. Aplaka’s condition was critical before God came to her aid.

Speaking at the convention, the General Secretary of the Baptist Church, Reverend (Dr.) Ademola Ishola, admonished the people to have faith in God and be committed to His service, adding that God is the only way through which continuity of their well-being could be guaranteed.
