Konga settles rift with X-Project

X-Project ONE of the successes recorded by the organisers of this year’s Nigeria Music award (NMA) held in Owerri is the return of unity between X-Project and Konga, both hip hop sensation that bagged awards at the event. Both artistes were united when ace presenter of Primetime Africa, Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye announced that the hip hop Song of the Year is won by X-Project which featured Konga on the hit track, Lorile. The next action everybody witnessed on stage was Konga and X-Project coming on stage to receive the award together.

Konga who first spoke to the press noted that he is very happy with X-Project. “We are friends; we are bound to disagree and to agree. It is one of those things. We are together presently. There are no rifts between us whatsoever”, he said. X-Project on the other hand appreciated Konga’s contributions in the album thanked him for coming to receive the award with them in Owerri

“We appreciate our fans that believe in our talents. Konga needs to be acknowledged here. We have forgiven him. To err is human but to give is divine. That is our philosophy of life. We thank him for featuring in the song. We win this award for him. It doesn’t belong to X-Project alone. We are together with people that featured in the whole album-Rugged man, Ani Rank and Konga. We are glad. Earlier, the news of the rift between the artistes had flooded the media due to the non inclusion of Konga’s name in the first set of Sierra Naija album.

N7m, SUV for GUS 5 winner

The Ultimate man or woman who finds the lost chronicle in this year’s edition of the very popular television reality show, Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) slated to hold at Awgu Hills in Enugu State, would exchange it for a whooping cash prize of N7million, a wardrobe allowance of N500,000 and a brand new Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). This year, the contestants will be searching for the lost chronicle, a treasure that will banish the tyrant war lord and protect the future.

These formed part of an address by Mr Ayeni Yusuf, Corporate Affairs Adviser of Nigerian Breweries Plc at a press conference on Monday. According to the Adviser, daily highlights of the search this year which is expected to stretch man to the very limit of his endurance, will be telecast from July 19 to August 9, 2008 on national and cable TV stations. Other prizes include N2.5m and N1.5m for the first and second runner up respectively. The 4th placed contestant would go home with N750, 000 while the 5th placed contestant would end his or search with N700, 000.The 6th,7th,8th,9th and 10th win N650,000, 600,000, 550,000, 500,000 and 450,000 respectively.

Just like last year, the “last woman standing” gets N1, 000,000 as Nigerian TV viewers and the international audience will for 21 days be treated to the best in entertainment, an original Nigerian adventure programme with international standards. The contestants are expected to go through an exciting and rewarding search in the very challenging terrain of Awgu Hills “As a result of the challenging nature of the search location; safety, health and security will be of the highest standards possible.
