Three family members lose life - As vehicle plunges into river

Tragedy struck in Udu area of Warri in Delta State on Saturday as three members of the same family lost their lives when their vehicle skidded off a bridge and plunged into Udu River.

The unidentified family was said to be going for a social function when the vehicle had a burst tire on top of Udu Bridge and plunged into the rivern killing three out of the four occupants.

Security sources told Sunday Tribune that the incident occurred at about 11.45 am and caused serious hold up along Udu road as sympathizers thronged the scene to rescue the victims.

It was learnt that a man, his wife and one of their two children were brought out dead while the other child who survived the accident was rushed to Central Hospital , Warri for treatment.
