Moscow loss still haunts Terry

CHELSEA captain, John Terry makes no secret that he is haunted by his Champions League failure in Moscow last season. "Every morning I wake up and it is the first thing on my mind, I still think of it and am still disappointed by it," the 27-year-old told reporters in China.

"I'm a big man, a big character and it's down to me to deal with that. The games with England at the end of the season helped to flush it away a little bit, but the success that we can hopefully bring with the new manager and players can hopefully flush away those bad memories completely."

Terry believes that after that disappointment, the squad is now well placed to pick itself up and push for silverware in 2009. "We have some new players already but and is my job to make them welcome at Chelsea. We are a big club and the manager has signed some big players already. It is my job to make them welcome and now we are away for two weeks we are looking forward.

"After the disappointments of last season we are very determined to win the Premier League and as many trophies as possible. We see the hunger in the new manager and the team he has brought in, and it is on the minds of everybody to do exactly the same."
